This is just ridiculous.
I hate the holier than thou vegetarian or vegan that thinks humans shouldn't eat meat at all in order to live in harmony with nature and be a better person. Vegetarians should not force their lifestyle on anyone. Also, instead of cutting out something we've been eating for millions of years to save the planet, why don't we just change how factories are run or how change how animals are fed?
The way I look at it, yes, you should get your meat from a butcher and it SHOULD be a free range animal. You SHOULD know where your meat comes from. If an animal DOES have it's life taken for you to eat it, then it should live well until then.
We've been eating meat since we became, well humans. Our bodies were designed to eat meat along with veggies. For some reason people miss this point. Higher animals eat lower animals. If we were designed to only eat veggies, we would only eat veggies and have digestive systems resembling that of cows and other herbivorous animals.
The point is, that we were designed to eat both and a balanced diet of both will make you healthy. You can be a vegetarian and lead a healthy life, but they lack the vitamins that meat eaters have. A new study has been conducted that vegetarians are six times more likely to have brain shrinkage because of this vitamin deficiency. Vegetarians also have weaker bones. You have to work extra hard and constantly take supplements to get these vitamins without eating meat.
Yes, I am a vegetarian. I was raised that way.
Will I go back to meat? Probably not, don't like it that much anyway.
I won't give you dirty looks for eating your steak in front of me.
